Choose the Right Filter Cloth
Do not select a cloth by size alone. The cloth must match the plate sealing surface, feed and filtrate openings, fastening method, chamber arrangement, and slurry characteristics. A cloth that fits the outline can still leak, blind quickly, release poorly, or restrict filtrate flow if its construction or openings are wrong.
Start by deciding whether the requirement is an original-specification replacement or a performance change. An original replacement aims to reproduce the existing installation. A performance change may alter material, weave, opening, finish, or sewing, and should be reviewed against a sample and the process objective.

Where the plate identity or operating duty is uncertain, a sample review or filtration test may be more appropriate than guessing from a catalogue description.
Cloth cleaning and filter-cake washing are different operations. Cleaning removes deposits from the cloth; cake washing moves liquid through a formed cake for a process purpose. Their pressure, liquid path, and compatibility questions should be assessed separately.
